Litec has recently signed an agreement with Columbus McKinnon, the worldwide producer of chain hoists for entertainment use.

As a former Master Distributor of Columbus McKinnon, Litec has extended its cooperation with the American company to some strategic RD&D areas. The first concrete result of this partnership is the creation of EXE-Lodestar®, a line of highly innovative and technological chain hoists.

At ProLight+Sound 2007 Litec has presented the 650C1 model of the EXE-Lodestar® chain hoists. The product was received very warmly both by the visitors and the media.

As a complete machine, it is the evolution from a “hoist” to a real machine for use in the entertainment business. Robust and intelligent, it is the first chain hoist that can be considered entirely BGV-C1. It is installed in almost the same way as a moving head: it is wired using similar procedures, it connects with other EXE-Lodestar® machines, it is allocated a machine ID and it is then ready to roll.

Datalogger is a test and diagnostic unit, which carries out safety operations when used together with EXE-Lodestar® C1 chain hoists.

It monitors the synchrony functions during lifting operations, reads the static load and the dynamic pay load in the EXE-Lodestar®.

A single EXE Datalogger unit can manage up to 12 EXE-Lodestar® chain hoists. Datalogger communicates and interacts directly with chain hoists without requiring any specific control unit.
